Free webinar to aid nonprofits

A free webinar scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, puts the spotlight on The Community Foundation’s successful steps to improve the effectiveness of local nonprofits. The webinar is open to all nonprofits and is available online from 11 a.m. to noon central daylight time. To join visit https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/473352657.

The webinar will be hosted by Liz LaBorde, director of community investment for The Community Foundation and Debra Natenshon, CEO of The Center for What Works. They will discuss tangible tools and simple steps grantmakers can use to address a variety of challenges. These include:

􀂄 The need for a streamlined, capacity-building tool that teaches grantees to quantify their effectiveness.

􀂄 The need for cost-sensitive, outsourced training for grantees, including one-on-one consultative services. Hands-on assistance from experts is key to putting training into practice.

􀂄 The need for a system that allows grantees to make mid-course corrections during a grant cycle, allowing a review of data that reflects the improvements.

For more information, please contact Liz LaBorde at (318) 221-0582.
